Accident on Addison Ave.

Riceville - On Friday May 18, 2018 at 10:12 a.m., about 20 minutes after an accident east of Riceville, the Howard County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call for a two-vehicle crash at Addison Ave.  and 160th St., south of Riceville.
Marvin Reis, age 82 from Osage, went to cross Addison Ave. from 160th St. but did not see a south-bound vehicle driven by 73-year-old Darlene Eichoff from Wykoff, Minn.
Eichoff’s 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan struck Reis’ 1998 International Paystar 5000 truck, owned by Helena Chemical Company from Osage, which was carrying liquid fertilizer.
Eichoff and her passenger, Sally Jeske, age 67 from Wykoff, were transported to Regional Health Services of Mitchell County by the Riceville Ambulance for minor injuries.  Reis was uninjured.
Eichoff’s vehicle was totaled; and there was no damage to Reis’ vehicle.  Marvin Reis was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Assisting at the scene were Riceville Fire, Elma Fire (because Riceville Fire was at the first accident), Riceville Ambulance, Mitchell County Sheriff and Nicholson Towing from Osage.
