CW 3, Kee 1
The Cadets completed 81 of 92 serves (88 percent), had 15 aces, 79 digs, 39 assists and 40 kills against the Kee Hawks.
“It is always fun to get a win!” Cadet Head Coach Nicole Johnson said. “The match over Kee made us very scrappy and we had to adapt. Both teams fought for every single point that brought long rallies and we were able to win.
“The Cadets adjusted quickly to their servers and our defense had significant improvement! A few areas we could work on is tip coverage and executing our offense. Needless to say it was tough the first set, but we found our rhythm quickly for the remaining sets,” the coach said.
Ella Otters was 19 of 20 serving, had three aces, 11 digs, and six kills for the Cadets. Hadley Riehle tallied 38 assists, 10 digs, completed 10 of 10 serves and had three aces. Ellie Einck was 13 of 16 serving, had three aces, and six digs.
Braelyn McCarville had 14 kills and seven digs. Jordyn Fisk had 25 digs and two aces. Kate Schwade tallied 11 digs. Alivia Schatz had three aces, one block, two digs and eight kills. Maryn Hvitved and Hope Ludwig each had five kills. Ava Barry had three digs.
Osage 3, CW 0
“I'm proud of the way our girls competed against Osage on all levels!” Johnson said. “Our defense and tip coverage has continued to improve, and that growth showed on the court. Osage has some very talented hitters and runs a high-tempo offense, which challenged us to stay disciplined and work hard defensively.
“We worked to match their tempo offensively, and that remains an area of emphasis as we continue to improve in practice and moving forward. Despite the loss, there were a lot of positives to take away from this match. I'm proud of our fight, our effort, and the way we continued to compete as a team. We'll keep building on the good things and working to get better every day!" the coach said.
Riehle was 11 of 11 serving, had three aces, two blocks, two kills and 15 assists against Osage. Ava Barry was eight of eight serving and had one ace. Jordyn Fisk had 13 digs. Ella Otters had seven digs.
