CRESCO - Lucille Borseth, age 94, of Cresco, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in New Oregon Cemetery in rural Cresco. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the New Oregon Cemetery Association.
Lucy was born on Nov. 25, 1924 in Winneshiek County, Iowa to John and Mary (Junge) Ott. She married Emmett Borseth on Feb. 24, 1943 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Emmett passed away on Nov. 12, 2006.
Lucy worked at the Ordinance Plant in Burlington, Iowa during WWII. Following the war, the couple moved back to Cresco, and she worked for the Cresco Times Plain Dealer for 41 years.
She is survived by her brother Orvald (Lenora) Ott; and two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Ott and Irene Slifka; along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ervin, Florian, Herb, Melvin, John and Francis; and her sisters, Alvera “Tootie” Richardson, Irene Pittelko, Joyce Ormsby and Janice Mollenhoff.
