CRESCO - Jeffrey Paul Henderson a.k.a “Chops”, age 60, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN on January 16, 2024.
Jeff was born July 19, 1963 in LaCrosse, Wis. He married Tammy Linderbaum on Sept. 21, 1985 and in his own words “made her the luckiest woman on the planet.” Jeff and Tammy had three sons: Kyle, Matt and Jeremy.
Jeff had a great sense of humor and a zest for life. A voice that could always be heard shouting across the neighborhood, the grocery store or the shop floor. He was always able to lighten the mood and put a smile on anyone’s face. Usually by being a smart alec. Jeff loved his neighborhood, his community and his church. He kept a strong Catholic faith and was in church most Sundays. In the last seven years, Jeff had the honor and privilege of becoming a “Papa” to seven grandchildren, which was his greatest blessing.
As most of his friends would know, Jeff had a sense of “style”. His family will be honoring that style by wearing jeans and flannel shirts to the visitation. Don’t go pressing your best suit for the funeral either; Chops wouldn’t want it that way. The man hated “dressing up.”
If Jeff were here he would tell us all to “keep your chin up, keep moving forward, and don’t be crying over me.” A man that never wanted to be a burden to anyone came back for one more week so his family could say goodbye.
He is preceded in death by his mom and dad, Kenny and Rita Henderson.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 39 years Tammy, his three sons, Kyle (Amber), Matthew (Ashley) and Jeremy, seven grandchildren: Cameron(Kyle), Laney(Kyle), Jailyn(Kyle), Shane(Kyle), Rowan(Matt), Cooper(Matt), and Blakely(Matt), brother Dave (Joelle) Henderson, two nephews Nathan (Hannah) Henderson, Noah (Illusion Israel) Henderson and their son Weston, mother and father in-law, Allyn and Connie Linderbaum, brother and sister in-laws: Brad (Lu) Linderbaum, Jill (Jim Hanrahan) Linderbaum and Julie Henry and a special niece Kylie Henry. Chops was truly one of kind, and will be missed by so many.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco. Visitation will be on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 4 to 7pm at the church and again one hour prior to services on Saturday morning. Burial will take place in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
