Donna Bruening, 68

HOWARD COUNTY - Our precious wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend left us on October 27, 2023. Donna fought a courageous battle and far exceeded her life expectancy in light of her devastating illness. 

Donna was our family registered nurse, always dispensing good advice and counsel. She was kind, generous, and so proud of her sons and grandkids. She was also stubborn, free spirited, and marched to her own drum.

Our family is forever grateful to Doug, who fulfilled his promise to Donna to care for her until the end of her life on this Earth. She passed peacefully, knowing that Doug had honored her wishes and stayed by her side until the end.

Donna is survived by her husband Doug; sons Scott (Lisa) and Rob (Debbie); grandchildren Evan, Makenna, Brooke, Mallory, and Jared; siblings Cindy (Bob), Curtis, Sid, Steve, Candy, Diana, and Craig (Karen); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Gen Wedderspoon, her brother Clark, and brother-in-law Randy Smith. Vickie Wedderspoon, Donna’s sister-in-law passed away earlier this year. 

Our sincere gratitude to the staff from Howard County Hospice, Nicki and her team, volunteer Bev Fitzgerald, and Dr. Kammerer for the loving care and compassion provided to our loved one. 

Rest in peace dear Donna, knowing how much we love and miss you. 

   You are welcome to join a Celebration of Donna's Life, which will be held at Kessel Lodge Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 2 to 5 p.m.
