CRESCO - Darlene Byrnes, age 91, of Cresco, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019 at Calvary Cemetery in rural Cresco with Rev. Jacob Rouse officiating.
Darlene was born on April 10, 1928 to Clara and William Birtwistle. She had and raised two children, Jean and Robert.
On July 4, 1976, she married the love of her life, John “Jack” Byrnes, and they never looked back, enjoying traveling the world together with an adventure at every turn, always side-by-side.
“Gramoo,” as she was affectionately known to by those closest to her, had a sympathetic and warm-hearted approach to life and was always a provider to those in need. Grandma loved her “kitties,” gardening, travel and spending time with friends and family. She will be deeply missed.
Darlene is survived by her sister, Linda; son, Robert; grandson, Bradley; and two great-grandchildren, Anna-belle and Jack.
