Marilyn Louise (Ertel) Pass, 94

   Marilyn Louise (Ertel) Pass of Cresco, Iowa, age 94, entered her heavenly glory peacefully on July 3, 2026, surrounded by love in the comfort of her own home.

   Born in Reading, PA, Marilyn shared a long, beautiful life with her beloved late husband, Eugene "Bob" Pass, raising their family with fierce devotion.

   A lifelong follower of Christ, Marilyn’s radiant smile, boundless energy, and infectious laughter lit up every room. She was famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls, her joyful family gatherings, and her daily devotion to her Bible. A gentle soul, she held a deep love for all animals and never met a stranger. Her family was everything to her.

   Marilyn leaves behind an incredible legacy including her children, Brad, Bob, Carolyn (Rich), Cathy, and Charlene (Mike); 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and an 

expected great-great-grandchild. She is reunited in Heaven with her husband Bob; her parents, Thomas and Mary Ertel; her children, Howard, Mary, and Cindy; her son-in-law, John; her granddaughter, Jamie; her siblings; her nephew, Sammy Junior; her beloved aunts; and many cherished extended family members and friends who passed before her.

   “She was the best mom and grandma anyone could have asked for, and we were so proud and grateful to be hers.”

  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 18 at Calvary Cemetery in Cresco. A luncheon will follow the service in the basement of the First Congregational Church, 130 3rd Ave E, Cresco, IA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn’s name to any animal shelter to honor her lifelong love and advocacy for animals.
