Pistons & Patriots Car & Bike Show Hits the Road This Weekend for a Worthy Cause in Cresco!

The action-packed day is brimming with exciting activities for all ages!
CRESCO - Get ready to rev your engines and make a pit stop at the highly anticipated 1st Annual Pistons & Patriots Car & Bike Show in Cresco, Iowa on Saturday, July 25! The event, spearheaded by community members Matty and Kelsey Schumacher in collaboration with American Legion Post 135, promises a day of good old fashioned fun and some fiercely gorgeous displayed vehicles, all for the benefit of supporting our local Legion.
Kicking off bright and early at 8:00 a.m. on the south end of North Elm Street, vehicle enthusiasts are invited to register their prized cars and bikes for an entry fee of just $10. The first lucky 100 entrants will receive a fantastic goodie bag and a commemorative dash plaque to commemorate their participation in this inaugural event.
As the show hits the road from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., attendees can marvel at the impressive display of classic automobiles and motorcycles while basking in the camaraderie of fellow automotive aficionados. The high-octane excitement culminates with the presentation of coveted awards at 1:45 p.m. amidst the scenic backdrop of the Howard County Courthouse lawn.
The festivities kick into high gear with a stirring patriotic opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m., featuring the proud Posting of the Colors by American Legion Post 135 and the spirited Legion Riders. The patriotic fervor continues with a soulful rendition of the National Anthem performed by the talented Braelyn McCarville.
But wait, there's more! The action-packed day is brimming with exciting activities for all ages, including a not-to-be-missed silent auction at the Legion, the chance to snag winning raffle tickets at the Legion Riders' booth, and a scrumptious array of delectable delights from local favorites Reno's/Renox, Good Vibes, and Dan's Roadhouse slinging their mouthwatering smash burgers.
To beat the summer heat, the Dollar Fresh Market-sponsored Hydration Station offers a cool oasis with refreshing water and delectable Mr. Freezies, available in exchange for a donation that goes directly towards supporting the Legion. Little ones can also partake in the fun, cooling off at the Hydration Station with temporary tattoos courtesy of delightful pin-up queens.
The soundtrack of the day will be expertly curated by the talented DJ Spoolie, ensuring the tunes are pumping and the energy is sky high throughout the event. Attendees can groove to their favorite hits and make song requests to keep the party vibes alive on the lively courthouse lawn.
All residents are encouraged to join in on the festivities, savoring a day filled with classic cars, motorcycles, scrumptious food, melodic tunes, and wholesome family fun while collectively supporting the invaluable American Legion Post 135.
