Crestwood girls tame Oelwein Huskies, face Wahlert in semifinals

CRESCO - The Crestwood softball team bounced back from an early deficit to defeat the Oelwein Huskies, 7-3, in the first round of the Class 3A Region 2 Tournament on July 9 at home. The win allows the Cadets (27-5) to advance to the semifinal game against Class 3A No. 2 Dubuque Wahlert (33-6) on Saturday, July 11, at 5 p.m. at the University of Dubuque. The winner of this game will advance to the region final on July 14 at 7 p.m. against either Charles City or Osage at a site to be determined.
