Rosa P. Lopez, 81, died at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on Jan. 4, 2025. She died peacefull surrounded by her family, whom were her greatest prides. Rose was born in 1943 to Daniel and Rita Gamez.
Throughout her life, she prioritized family. Rosa found joy in coffee with friends and meals surrounded by the smiling faces of her family. She adored her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. It was known by all that these were what brought her the most joy in her day to day life.
Rosa is preceeded in death by her parents, Danile and Ritz Gamez, her brothers, Rueben Gamez and Daniel Gamez. She is survived by her siblings, Charles (Mary) Gamez, Josephine Cummings, Adolph (Mick) and Jolene Gamez, David (Lyla) Gamez, Dianne Grandia and Denise Gamez (Dan Horn), her children David Lopez and Lisa Lopez, her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Gabriel) Moreno, Ashley (Nate Williams) Fitzgerald and Reichen Lopez and her beloved great grandchildren, Matteo and Alana Moreno.
She was beautiful, funny, compassionate and a friend to many. She will be truly missed by all that she touched in this life.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with family remarks at 1.
