State of the Union Address party

Yep, you’ve heard of Super Bowl parties. Maybe you even attended or hosted one a few weeks ago, but on Jan. 30, a group of Howard County and area individuals attended a State of the Union Address party at The Pub in Cresco.
A group of around 15 were able to attend the meeting put on by Dan Allott of the Washington Examiner.
Allott and his brother, Jordan, who was not in attendance, are talking with Democrats and Republicans in nine counties around the United States that flipped big in the 2016 presidential election. Howard County went from plus 21 percent in favor of Democratic President Obama in 2012 to 21 percent in favor of Republican President Trump in 2016. The brothers return periodically to see if voters still feel the same.
Democrats and Republicans quietly watched the State of the Union Address, making comments once in awhile, but never getting too rowdy.
Afterwards attendees talked with Allott, giving him their opinions on the address, as well as other topics in the news.
