Passionate High School Biology Teacher and Assistant Coach Reflects on Career

CRESCO - Dale Dennler has dedicated over three decades of his life to educating high school students in biology. Also currently guiding young athletes as the Assistant Girls Track Coach. With a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for teaching, Mr. Dennler's journey in education has been one filled with inspiration and impact.

   Having been influenced by his high school biology and math teachers, Mrs. Blaker and Mr. Buchholz, Mr. Dennler found his calling in the classroom. Mrs. Blaker's knowledge and ability to make biology interesting and Mr. Buchholz's mentorship as a coach and teacher were pivotal in shaping his career path. Originally considering a major in math, Mr. Dennler discovered his love for biology during his college years, making the decision to pursue a career in science education.

   As an educator, Mr. Dennler has found great fulfillment in seeing his students thrive and succeed. The moments when former students reach out to express gratitude for his teachings remind him of the positive impact he has had in their lives. One particularly memorable experience was receiving an email from a college senior thanking him for the lessons and experiences shared in his class, reinforcing Mr. Dennler's belief in the profound effect teachers can have on his students.

   Known for his patient, nurturing, and interactive teaching style, Mr. Dennler strives to create a classroom environment where students feel engaged and inspired. His core goal is to cultivate a genuine interest in biology among his students, believing that sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for the subject is a key to their success.

   Outside of the classroom, Mr. Dennler enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife Stephanie and their daughter Ella, who is currently a junior in high school. Together, they share a love for outdoor activities, such as hiking and traveling to explore the natural beauty of different landscapes.

   In addition to his role as a teacher, Mr. Dennler has a surprising adventurous side, having taken on the exhilarating experience of skydiving not once, but twice. This spirit of adventure and willingness to try new things reflect his belief in the importance of stepping out of one's comfort zone to embrace new challenges.

   As Mr. Dennler continues to inspire and educate generations of students, his impact on the school community is profound and lasting.
