One vehicle accident

SARATOGA - On Thursday April 6, 2023 at 8:09 a.m., the Howard County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a single vehicle accident on Highway 9 in Saratoga.
The driver, Stephen Russett ,age 37 from Bloomington, Minn. was east bound on Highway 9 when he crossed the center line and entered the north ditch.
The 2013 KIA Optima hit a culvert and came to rest on its front end. Mr. Russett was airlifted to Rochester with serious injuries. He was cited for no valid driver’s license.
Assisting the sheriff’s office at the scene were Riceville Fire, Riceville Ambulance, Howard County Ambulance, Howard County First Responders and Cresco Towing and Recovery; and Cresco Fire and Gundersen Air at the Davis Corners landing site at.
Mr. Russett had a black cat in the car with him that has not been located. If located please contact the sheriff’s office so it can reunited with its owner.
