Turkey Valley's Jalyssa Blazek third in 800, TV girls second in sprint medley

DES MOINES - The Turkey Valley girls’ track team grabbed medals in four events and chalked up 22 total points en route to an eighth place team finish in Class 1A at the State Track Meet held from May 20-22 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
In the boys’ meet, the Turkey Valley distance medley team finished 12th in a time of 3:45.06 to record the highest finish for the Trojans. The distance medley team consisted of Marcus Herold, Chase Hayek Kalvin Langreck and Noah Hanson.
Girls’ meet
Trojan junior Jalyssa Blazek tallied four medals (one individual and three relay events). Blazek placed third in the 800 meters in a school record time of 2:20.32. She also anchored the sprint medley relay team to a second place finish (1:52.32), helped the distance medley team place fifth in a school record time (4:18.48) and ran on the 4x800 relay team that finished fifth (10:13.57).
The sprint medley team included: Kara Reicks, Clare Courtney, Olivia Snyder and Blazek. The 4x800 team included: Josie Weber, Jaycie Byrne, Cambree Kruse and Blazek. The distance medley team included: Reicks, Weber, Byrne and Blazek.
