Reicks plays on All-Star team

CRESCO - Lauren Reicks, a 2017 Crestwood graduate, recently participated in the 33rd Annual Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association Softball All-Star game held at Waukon High School on July 24.
A total of 39 senior girls from the state of Iowa were selected to participate in the games. High School coaches were asked to send in nominations and the teams were selected by the IGCA committee.
The seniors were divided between three teams in a round robin tournament including: Red, White, and Blue. Lauren played on the Blue Team, which won both of its games.
One of the players on her team was Emma Olejinczak who is the granddaughter of Gary and Marcia Murray. Gary and Marcia are from Cresco.
One of the coaches on the Blue Team was Patty Stockman Sann, who began her coaching career at Crestwood in the 1980s. She left in 1983 to be the assistant coach at the University of Iowa. She is now the athletic director and softball coach at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School.
