No. 10 Cadet wrestlers pound Centerville, Union; advance to State Dual Team Tourney for the first time

LAPORTE CITY - The No. 10 Crestwood wrestling team made history on Feb. 6 as the Cadets defeated No. 21 Centerville (83-0) and No. 6 Union (36-29) at the Class 2A Team Region Dual Tournament to qualify for the Class 2A State Dual Team Tournament for the first time in school history.

During the Team Region Dual Tourney, Crestwood senior Kaden Anderlik posted two wins to give him 157 career wins, which ties the school record set by Brandon Mayer in 2015. Anderlik will have the opportunity to break the school record for career wins at the Class 2A District Tournament in Independence on Feb. 9.

Crestwood will compete at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines in the quarterfinal round against Davenport Assumption on Mat 6 at the Class 2A State Dual Team Tournament. The winner of this dual will compete in the semifinals at 1 p.m. on Feb. 13 against either West Delaware or Sergeant Bluff-Luton on Mat 3. The championship dual will be at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 on Mat 4. Complete results from the Team Region Dual Tournament will be in the Feb. 13 issue of the Times Plain Dealer.
