Four Cadet girls earn All-NEIC Softball honors

 CRESCO - Four members of the Crestwood softball team earn All-Northeast Iowa Conference honors for the 2023 season.

Senior Olivia Ollendick earned First Team honors as an infielder. Three Cadets nabbed Second Team honors including: Britain Ferrie, senior, infield; Blaire Cummings, sophomore, infield; and Laney Peter, sophomore, outfield. The Cadets finished the season at 14-17 overall.

Ollendick led the Cadets with a .452 batting average, had a team-high 47 hits, including five doubles and one triple, posted 10 runs batted in, led the team with 31 stolen bases, had 35 runs scored, posted an on-base percentage of .513 and a slugging average of .519.

Ferrie tallied a .360 batting average, scored 23 runs had 36 hits, including 11 doubles and three home runs, led the team with 31 RBI, had five stolen bases, had a .407 on-base percentage and led the Cadets with a .560 slugging average.

Cummings had a .286 batting average, tallied 16 runs, had 26 hits, including five doubles and one triple, eight RBI and six stolen bases. Peter had a .368 batting average, posted 31 runs, had 32 hits, including 11 doubles, one triple and one home run, had 11 RBI and had 14 stolen bases.

Decorah won the NEIC regular season title with a record of 11-4. The rest of the standings include: Charles City 9-6; Waverly-SR 8-7; Crestwood 6-9; Waukon 6-9; and New Hampton 5-10.
