Crestwood volleyball team beats Central, SW

CALMAR - Strong play on offense and defense helped the Crestwood varsity volleyball team notch their first two match wins of the season on Aug. 31 during a triangular at South Winn.
The Cadets swept two sets from Central (25-17, 25-17) and bounced South Winn in two sets (25-14, 25-23).
“I can attribute our victories last night to our defense,” Crestwood Head Coach Robin Gossman said. “We played defense both on the net and on the floor like I hoped we could. Our serving was very good and our hitting was much more controlled than it has been so far this season.”
The Cadets (2-3) competed at Decorah on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Statistics from this match will be in the Sept. 13 issue. Crestwood will host the Kepros Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.
