Crestwood girls' cross country team wins Osage meet, boys' team takes fifth place

OSAGE - Four Crestwood girl runners finished in the top 10 to help the Cadet varsity girls’ cross country team grab first place with 61 points at the Osage Invitational on Sept. 14 while the Crestwood boys’ team placed fifth overall with 148 points.
In the varsity girls’ race, Cadet senior Kendel Slavin nabbed fourth place in a time of 21:43.74 seconds. Laney Peter was sixth in 21:53.86, Olivia Ollendick took ninth in 22:21.62 and Kyleigh Foster was 10th in 22:36.06. Katelyn Johnston of Osage took first place in 20:01.28.
In the varsity boys’ meet, Ethan Govern finished 11th in 18:47.17 and Dominic Bigalk placed 13th in 18:52.37. Riley Witt of St. Ansgar placed first in 16:50.15.
The Crestwood Junior Varsity girls’ and boys’ teams also competed well as both squads took first place.
In the JV girls’ meet, Crestwood had the top four placings. Kinze Shea was first in 23:08.21, Tara Koshatka took second in 25:08.03, Elise Church placed third in 25:55.32 and Dylan Rahlf was fourth in 26:03.34.
In the JV boys’ meet, Kendrik Juelsgaard placed 14th in 22:16.71 and Caleb Kammerer was 15th in 22:44.31.
