Crestwood boys, girls both nab second at MFL-MM Invitational

MONONA - Cool and windy weather didn’t bother the Crestwood boys’ and girls’ track teams on April 12 at the MFL-Mar-Mac Invitational as the Cadet varsity boys’ squad took second with 148 points while the Crestwood girls’ team placed second with 128 points.

Crestwood’s 4x800 (9:34.20), 4x400 (5:23.08) and 4x100 (47.86) teams all placed second. Crestwood’s 4x200 relay team took first in 1:40.60
“Even though it was windy and cold at the meet, I thought we did all right as a team,” Cadet Boys’ Coach Chris Lentz said. “Overall, our guys competed well. We found that we still need to work on a few things, such as handoffs in the exchange zone on the relays, but I liked the way our guys were competitive at the meet.
“Chris Guest ran well in the 110 high hurdles, the 400 hurdles and the 100 dash. We also ran well in the 4x800, 4x400, 4x200 and 4x100 relays,” Lentz said.
