Cadet girls second at Osage, first at MFL meet

OSAGE - The Crestwood girls’ track team posted several stout performances on their way to a second place finish with 109 points at the Osage Invitational on April 11.
Competing at MFL-Mar-Mac on April 13, the Cadet girls’ team cruised to a first place finish with 148 points.
Osage meet
Crestwood Girls’ Coach Karen Steffen noted the squad posted many strong performances at Osage.
“Kinze Shea took second in the 3000 meters (11:30.87) and first in the 1500 (5:11.83),” Steffen said. “The 4x100 team of Charley Curtis, Olivia Johnson, Lily Troendle and Aubrey Mannery took first (53.09). Isabella Schlatter was first in the long jump (15-0). The sprint medley team of Ava Johnson, Aubrey Mannery, Olivia Johnson and Charley Curtis took first (2:01.97). The distance medley team of Curtis, Johnson, Troendle and Shea placed first (4:38.28).
MFL Meet
MONONA - Competing at MFL-MM on Thursday, the Cadets cruised to the title with 148 points. Maquoketa Valley was a distant second with 90 points.
Steffen was thrilled to see the Cadets finish in the top three in 15 events.
“We placed first in the shuttle hurdle relay (Tara Koshatka, Ava Johnson, Emma Godman, Ella Bergan); 100 dash (Curtis); high jump (Ava Johnson); and 4x800 relay (Olivia Ollendick, Laney Peter, Ryleigh Myers and Shea),” Steffen said.
“The girls were second in the 200 (Troendle); 3000 (Myers); 400 hurdles (Ava Johnson); 4x100 (Curtis, Olivia Johnson, Erica Ollendick, Mannery); 4x400 (Olivia Ollendick, Peter, Myers, Troendle); long jump (Schlatter); and shot put (Hrdlicka).
“We also had several third place finishes including: 1500 (Jaylee Vobr); 4x200 (Erica Ollendick, Lauren Fortney, Schlatter, Tierney Perkins); sprint medley (Schlatter, Fortney, Curtis, Troendle); distance medley (Mannery, Perkins, Troendle, Vobr); and high jump (Kaylee Johnson),” Steffen said.
