Cadet girls place second in three events and sixth overall, Cuvelier third in discus

DES MOINES - The Crestwood girls' track team tallied three second place finishes and one third place finish en route to taking sixth in the team standings with 30 points May 18-20 at the Class 3A State Track Meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Cadet senior Spencer Cuvelier took third in the discus with a throw of 166 feet, 9 inches.

Cadet junior Ellie Friesen placed second in the 800 meters (2:15.93), second in the 1500 (4:41.48), third in the 3000 (10:14.76) and she anchored the distance medley team to second place in a time of 4:11.99. The distance medley team included: Brynn Bodermann, Annie Mast, Katie Saner and Friesen. Sharon Goodman placed 18th in the discus with a throw of 109-5. Katie Saner placed 13th in the 200 dash preliminary heat in a time of 26.01, finished 18th in the 100 dash preliminary heat in 12.77 and she placed 15th in the long jump at 15 feet, 9.25 inches. Chris Guest placed 22nd in the 110 high hurdles in 16.10 seconds.
