Cadet girls nip Waukon in region semifinals, one win away from State

CRESCO - Crestwood's Erica Ollendick scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Cadet softball team to a 2-1 win over Waukon on July 9 in the Class 3A Region 6 Semifinal. The win allows the Cadets (21-7) to advance to the Region Final contest against No. 6 Anamosa (31-7) on July 12 at 7 p.m. in Anamosa. The winner of the Region Final will advance to the Class 3A State Tournament, which starts on July 19.
