CACC trapshooting squads shine at State Meet

CEDAR FALLS - The Cresco Area Clay Crushers trapshooting teams turned in many solid performances at the State Meet, which was held from June 7-11 in Cedar Falls.
CACC’s team 5 finished third in the Junior Varsity Division with a score of 941. Shooters included: Kail Schmelzer 195, Cale Knight 191, Ethan Tlusty 189, Kaid Headington 187 and Gatlin Dahlberg 179.
In the Single League Ladies’ Intermediate Advanced Division, Lydia Bollman placed second individually with a score of 184 for eight rounds.
In the Single League Mens’ Intermediate Advanced Division, Jaxson Barnes was 14th at 190 and Grady Huber was 29th at 185.
In the Single League Ladies’ Intermediate Division, Taylor McCabe was second at 165. Other CACC placings and scores included: 11. Harley Fisher 150; 18. Kaydence Hrdlicka 142; 22. Madi Fritcher-Larson 140; 24. Abigail Lewis 138.
In the Senior Mens’ Division, Kody Schmelzer placed 167th individually at 191. Other CACC scores featured: Colton Hruska 189, Cole Suckow 187, Paul Hanni 185, Kyle Larson 183 and Isaac Tucke 181.
Kail Schmelzer posted three perfect rounds of 25. Jaxson Barnes and Kale Christopher both had two perfect rounds. Cale Knight, Kaid Headington, Ethan Tlusty, Marissa Bronner and Boston Danielson each had one perfect round.
