It is very important to simplify your life. Stress is a huge burden in many of our lives. Here are several things that you may be able to incorporate to make things easier.
1. De-clutter your home, your car, and your office or work space by getting rid of one or two items each month.
2. Turn off the TV, check emails just once per day, or leave your cell phone in the car because these devices can suck our energy and time away.
3. Say “No”, “Sometimes” and “Maybe” more often, be more selective about the things you agree to do.
4. Buy things that are truly needed and delay purchasing things that are wanted. Also do more one stop shopping and one day per month/week shopping.
5. Use your vacation time.
6. Drink water and go for a walk.
7. Go to bed earlier. This extra sleep will give you a good jump start or feel refreshed.
8. Learn to laugh, learn yoga, or learn to meditate.
9. Slow down driving. This gives you time to reflect or think ahead, enjoy the scenery, or be more patient.
10. Do Nothing. Next time you’re waiting for an appointment, don’t read a magazine, don’t check your messages, and don’t look at your errand list. Just do nothing and let whatever is going on in your head to just be without having to do anything about it.
