Funeral services for Ruth Cameron of Cresco, IA were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Cresco. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco.
    Ruth, 95, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco.
    Ruth Cameron was born April 19, 1913 in Winneshiek County, IA the daughter of Julius and Ingeborg Gunhus. She attended country schools.
    On December 16, 1936 she married Lyle Cameron. To this union three children were born, Lila Mae, Elizabeth, and Lyle. She was very proud of her full Norwegian heritage.
    She enjoyed cooking and baking, and was always cleaning. She also made time for family and playing cards. She grew up as a member of Orleans Lutheran Church in rural Ridgeway, IA, and spent her adult life as an active member of First Lutheran Church in Cresco.
    She is survived by a daughter: Elizabeth (Gerald) Duneman of New Hampton; a son: Lyle Cameron of Missoula, MT; three granddaughters: Dawn (Duane) Fenneman of West Union, Cindi (Jon) Clark of Reinbeck, and Stephanie (David) McKenna of New Hampton; seven great-grandchildren: Derrick Fenneman, Brandon Fenneman, Cameron Clark, Karlee Clark, Dylan Fenneman, Tyler McKenna, and Kyan McKenna; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter in infancy; her parents; two sisters: Jenny Storlie and Lillian Slifka; and eight brothers: Helmer, Melvin, Arthur, Teddy, Edwin, Freddie, Spencer, and Laurence in infancy.
