Marjorie Patterson, 87, of Canton, MN passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Harmony, MN.  Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony, MN from 4-7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, and one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial will be in the State Line Cemetery in rural Harmony, MN.
     Marjorie Eleanor Trouten was born on September 27, 1920 to James and Anna (Jacklin) Trouten at their home in Winneshiek County, Freemont Township, IA.  She spent her infant years being very ill.  She did however overcome her illnesses lived a healthy adult life. She was baptized in the State Line Methodist Church in rural Harmony, MN, and attended country school through the eighth grade, graduating from Harmony High School in 1938.  She married Donald Patterson in 1942.  To this union four children were born, Royce, Cleo, Marcia, and Randy.
    She was very active in the State Line Methodist Church that her grandfather, Jacklin, helped to establish. The church was closed in September of 2006.  Marjorie loved flowers and gardening.  She also worked at the Harmony Greenhouse for 30 years.
     Marjorie is survived by three children, Cleo Carolan of Decorah, IA, Marcia (John) Hanson of Harmony, MN, and Randy (Doris) Patterson of Decorah, IA, a daughter-in-law Audrey Patterson of Canton, MN, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, a son Royce who passed away from cancer on September 24, 2000, and a brother and sister-in-law Clair (Lucille) Trouten.
