CRESCO - Luanne Wagoner, age 91, of Cresco, Iowa passed away just before midnight on April 11, 2017 at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Cresco. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, April 14 at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, as well as one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco.
Luanne Lillian (Darby) Wagoner was born in Cresco on Nov. 4, 1925 to Thomas and Eunice Darby. She graduated from Cresco High School and attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she received a degree in English. She taught high school English in the Iowa communities of Fenton, Wheatland, Rock Rapids and finally Cresco, where she retired after 38 years.
Luanne loved traveling, playing golf and playing bridge. She was also an active member of the United Methodist Church choir for many years.
Luanne is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Wagoner of 65 years; her son, Kent (Connie Finger) of Powell, Tenn.; and her sister, Phyllis Thompson of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
The family requests that memorials be given to United Methodist Church in Cresco.
