CRESCO - Leonard Chyle, age 88, of Cresco, died on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Accura Healthcare, in Cresco.
A Memorial Service for Leonard will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023 at the Holy Trinity Parish in Protivin, with Fr. Nick Radloff officiating. Burial will take place at the Holy Trinity Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Leonard Louis Chyle was born on April 22, 1935 in Howard County to Alois and Frances (Malek) Chyle. Leonard spent most of his life living on the family farm, just two miles north of Protivin, with his parents and sister, Norma.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1958 and was later honorably discharged. Leonard was a simple man, and he lived a simple life. He enjoyed farming and gardening on the family farm, motorcycle riding, as well as spending time with friends and family to reminisce on the old times past. He was a proud member of the local VFW and Farm Bureau.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister, Norma.
