Jerome Samec, 75

 

MANLY -  James A. Samec, 75, formerly of Cresco, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 at Muse Norris Hospice--Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 12 at Bride Colonial Chapel, Manly with burial in the Manly cemetery.
Jerome A. Samec, was born March 4, 1942 on the family farm near Schley, Iowa. He was the son of Alois and Adella (Hosek) Samec. He attended country school until eighth grade, and worked various jobs to help support  his family.
Jerome was united in marriage to Bonnie Bronner on Feb. 11, 1967 at Cresco United Methodist Church and to this union two children were born. Jerome and Bonnie celebrated 50 years together this past February.
He worked on farms throughout the years, with most recent being Holden Farms and Fritz Farm.
Jerome enjoyed John Deere tractors, watching westerns and game shows, and spending time with family and friends.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Bonnie Samec of Manly; two children, Tammie Samec of Manly, Michael Samec of Waterloo; grandson, Cody (fiance-Leah Peel) Samec of Des Moines; and four-legged friend, Charlie; two sisters, Darlene (Matt) Andera of Spillville ad Delores (Kenny) Nehl of New Hampton.
Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Adella Samec; brother, Virgil (Marlene) Samec; and four-legged friend, Pooh-Bear and Brady Sam.
