Geraldine (Geri) Boehmer, 85

 

ALAMO, Texas -  Geraldine Eva (Geri) Boehmer, 85, of Alamo, Texas, formerly of LeRoy, Minn., passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 after a short illness.
Geri Boehmer was born Feb. 19, 1931, the daughter of Albert and Rose Reicherts of Alta Vista, Iowa. 
She married Kenneth (Kenny) I. Boehmer on June 15, 1949 in Jerico, Iowa. They retired to Trophy Gardens in Alamo 14 years ago, after going there as snow birds for 13 years.
Geri worked at home in LeRoy for many years as a furniture upholsterer. She continued to do clothing alterations in Trophy Gardens, finally retiring at 82. She loved playing cards and a game called dirty board. She taught all her grandkids to play the game when she came for her yearly visit “up North.” She also loved family casino trips. Geri was always active in the Trophy Garden Hall organizing activities and helping with events.
She is survived by her children, Diane (Kenneth) Bill of LeRoy, David (Dianna) Boehmer of Genoa, Ill., Larry (Betty) Boehmer of Wabasha, Minn., Teresa (Kenneth) Hovde of Dodge Center, Minn. and Barbara (Jeff) Hinz of Grand Meadow, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchldren; and two sisters, Rita (Francis) Zien and Anna Whitnanble, both of New Hampton, Iowa.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; an infant son, Scottie; one brother; seven sisters; and one great-grandson.
There will be a private family graveside service this summer in Elma, Iowa.
