Cresco - Angeline E. Rance, age 94, of Cresco, Iowa, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Colonial Manor in Elma, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco, with burial in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Lourdes, Iowa.
Angeline Edwardeen Northness was born Aug. 13, 1922, daughter of Theodore and Josephine (Prochaska) Northness near Alta Vista in Chickasaw County, Iowa. On Tuesday, April 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to Raymond Rance.
Angeline loved to spend time in the kitchen, baking and cooking. It was a treat for the whole family when she made apple pie and her famous fried chicken. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and visiting, playing cards and going for walks. She loved when her grandkids would visit her with their children.
She belonged to the Cresco Garden Club, the Coffee and Thimble Club and was a 4-H leader. Angeline liked to spend time outdoors raising chickens and tending to her garden. She won many blue ribbons at the fair with the flowers she grew.
Surviving Angeline are her daughter, Shirley Smith of Elma, and her children, Todd Smith (Julie Ristau) of Elma, Terry (Patty) Smith of Belmond, Iowa, Tammy (Tony) White of Kansas City, Mo. and Ted (Wendy) Smith of Mantorville, Minn.; her daughter, Sandy (John) Lentz of Elma, and their children, Jeff (Mary) Lentz of Plymouth, Iowa, Shelley (Mark) Oliver of Mason City, Iowa and Steve (Kris) Lentz of Mason City; her granddaughter, Whitney McEachran of Portland, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Darla Rance of Lime Springs, Iowa, and her children, Jared (Jessica) Rance of Eden Prairie, Minn. and Brian (Amber) Rance of Monticello, Iowa; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter, Sue; son, Ray; son-in-law, Tom; three brothers; and one sister.
