6 freshmen transferred to hospital after rollover

Cresco, Iowa -

    Six high school freshmen were transferred to Regional Health Services of Howard County last Wednesday afternoon after a 15-year-old driver lost control of her car.
    The 15-year-old Cresco female crossed a small bridge at about 3:15 p.m. while traveling  south on Yankee Ave., about two miles north of Cresco, when she lost control of her vehicle. The 1995 Buick slid into the west ditch where it rolled over three times.
    Five other females, ages 14 and 15, were passengers in the car at the time of the accident. All five passengers and the driver were transferred by ambulance or private vehicle to Regional Health Services of Howard County.
    The high school student was driving with a school permit at the time of the accident.
    Cresco Fire and Rescue and the Cresco Police Department assisted at the scene.
