A car was left flipped upside down in a ditch near Lime Springs last Friday when a two-vehicle accident took place two miles east of Lime Springs at about 3:48 p.m. May 23.
Justin J. Vaalemoen and Robert W. Moser, both of Lime Springs, were both traveling west on 45th St. when Moser attempted to turn left onto Quail Ave. while Vaalemoen was passing.
Moser, driving a 1992 Ford, clipped Vaalemoen, causing him to skid into the ditch and roll several times before the car came to a halt. Vaalemoen's 2000 Chevy was left flipped upside down in the ditch, reported a Howard County Sheriff’s Department report.
Both drivers received minor injuries.
Vaalemoen was charged with passing too near an intersection.
Lime Springs Fire Department, Lime Springs Area First Responders and Howard County Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
