An Elma woman was injured in a car-semi accident near Riceville last Thursday morning.
    Linda Marie Kasel, 44, was heading east on County Road B17 at 8:55 a.m. when she became distracted and crossed the center line, according to an Iowa State Patrol report. Kasel struck a semi-tractor trailer driven by Dallas Jay Kuper, 22, of Osage.
    The report states that Kasel’s vehicle struck the rear dual tires. She was taken by air ambulance to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
    The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office, Riceville Fire and Rescue, Riceville Ambulance, Mayo One Air Ambulance and Mitchell County Seconday Roads.
