Cresco, Iowa -

A Cresco couple lost their home and their pets to a trailer fire at Satellite Trailer Park early Saturday morning.
Brenda Belisle awoke  before dawn Saturday morning after smelling smoke in her and Jonathan Belisle’s trailer home.
The Cresco Fire Department arrived at the site around 6 a.m., and remained on the scene for about three hours.
“It was believed to be electrical in nature,” said Neil Stapelkamp, Cresco fire chief, of how the fire was started.
Stapelkamp said the trailer was considered a total loss. Jonathan Belisle went to an outpatient medical clinic for breathing difficulties after the fire, but he was not admitted to the hospital. Brenda Belisle was not injured. The couple lost their dog and three cats in the fire.
