Lime Springs hosts Sweet Corn Days Aug. 11-13

 LIME SPRINGS - Everyone is invited to enjoy three action-packed days during Lime Springs Sweet Corn Days from Aug. 11 to Aug. 13!

The fun-filled weekend starts on Friday, Aug. 11. From 4 to 8 p.m., Family Fun & Fitness will host Lidtke Mill Bingo and food will be served and the beer garden opens.

At 6 p.m., the Steve Kraft Memorial Co-ed Softball Tournament will get underway. The Crowning of Little Miss Sweet Corn and King of Corn Program and Scholarship will be held at 6:30 p.m.

People can also listen to music Friday night as DJ Digger Hanson will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. and the Dirty Bourbon Band will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. From 8 p.m. to midnight, the Pool & Park Board Food Stand will be open.

Saturday, Aug. 12 will feature many exciting activities for people of all ages, which include the following:

• 8-11 a.m. - Dad’s Belgian Waffles at the Community Center; Kraft Softball Tourney continues

• 10 a.m.-10 p.m. - Pool & Park Board Food Stand open at the baseball field

• 10 a.m. - Kayak races at Lidtke Mill; Tractor Show at Brown Park; Saddle Club Fun Show at Echo Valley on State Line Road

• 11 a.m.-4 p.m. - Kids’ carnival at Brown Park, including bouncy houses, games, activities and balloon guy

• Noon - Legion Riders Bean Bag Tourney and Food Stand on Main Street

• Noon-1 a.m. - Beer garden open

• Noon-4 p.m. - Lidtke Mill Tours

• 11 a.m.-5 p.m. - Lidtke Mill Bingo at Family Fun & Fitness with food served

• 2:30 p.m. - Kids Power Pedal Tractor Pull at Brown Park

• 3 p.m. - Fire Department Waterball Tourney at Fire Station; 13-mile bike ride starting at A & K parking lot

• 3-6 p.m. - Fire Department provides food at Fire Station

• 3:30 p.m. - All are welcome to husk sweet corn behind the library

• 5 p.m. - Ducks over the Dam at Lidtke Mill

• 6:30-8:30 p.m. - DJ Digger Hanson

• 9 p.m.-1 a.m. - Those Guys Band from Orange County, Calif.

Sunday, Aug. 13 activities are as follows:

• 7-11 a.m. - Chris Cakes serving at Community Center

• 8 a.m. - Kraft Softball Tourney continues

• 9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Craft & Flea Exhibits on Main Street and food vendors

• 9:30 a.m. - Ecumenical Church Service at Brown Park. Those attending are asking to bring their own lawn chairs

• 10 a.m. - Free watermelon until it’s all gone; Fish & Wildlife Club Food stand on Main Street; Moo Mobile

• 10:30 a.m. - Free Harrington’s Sweet Corn on Main Street until it’s gone

• 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. - Classic Car Show

• 11 a.m.-5 p.m. - Beer garden open

• 11 a.m. - Third Annual ‘World’s Shortest’ 0.005 Bloody Mary Run from Brown Park to Kitchen Park

• 1 p.m. - Parade starts

• 2-4 p.m. - Lidtke Mill Tours

• 2-5 p.m. - Tim’s Mobile Music on Main Street

• 2:30-5 p.m. - Lidtke Mill Bingo at Family Fun & Fitness with food served

• 4:45 p.m. - Raffle Drawing for Cash Winners at the Beer Tent
