Lauren Alaina, Hairball at MHC Fair

CRESCO - Chase away those winter blues by thinking about summer and the Mighty Howard County Fair, June 21-25!
One of the best deals at the fair, other than the free grounds shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits and animal shows, are the buttons to get into the Grandstand Shows Wednesday through Sunday. They are $40 prior to fair week and $50 during the week. That’s an unbelievable $8 per event!
The slate of grand stand entertainment has been finalized, and fans of Lauren Alaina and Hairball will be thrilled to learn they will be appearing on Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 24, nights respectively!
In addition, there will be two big nights of stock races, on Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22. Details are being worked out for Wednesday, but on Thursday, it will be the Hoker Trucking Super Late Model Series and Upper Midwest Renegade Sprint Car Series.
Finishing up the grand stand shows is T&C Rodeo on Sunday night, with bull riding, barrel racing and mutton busting, with fireworks after the rodeo.
Party in the Pit
Lauren Alaina will be performing on Friday night.
The multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter’s current Extended Play, Getting Over Him, includes six songs that feature her signature powerhouse vocals including “Run,” which addresses the rat race of life everyone is on, the feisty and clever “If I was a Beer,” the emboldened “Bar Back,” the thought-provoking sentimental “Seen You In Your Hometown,” as well as, for the first time on one of her projects, two duets including the title track “Getting Over Him” featuring Jon Pardi and the emotionally difficult “What Do You Think Of?” featuring international pop sensation Lukas Graham.
Alaina has earned three No. 1 hit singles in just under three years with her smash “Road Less Traveled” (2017), the now 6x Platinum “What Ifs” (2018) with her childhood friend and superstar Kane Brown (his first career No. 1) and most recently “One Beer” (2020) with friend and rising star HARDY (also his first career No. 1).
The “sassy Southerner with killer pipes” (PARADE) has shared the stage with superstars including Alan Jackson, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Martina McBride and Jason Aldean, and sold out her own, first-ever headlining, That Girl was Me Tour.
Madd Hoss Jackson, a Fair favorite, will open for Alaina
Back by popular demand is Hairball, which will be on Saturday night in the pit. It is like having Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey and Aerosmith playing on the stage at the Mighty Howard County Fair.
The band’s website says, “A band puts on a concert - Hairball puts on an event! Hairball is a Rock & Roll experience you won’t soon forget.
“The lights, sound, smoke, fire, bombs, and screaming hoards of avid fans...to merely call it a concert would be like calling Mount Rushmore a roadside attraction!”
This year, Hairball is celebrating its 23rd year of rocking hundreds of thousands of people across the country. Constantly adding more characters, more pyrotechnics, more lights, more sound, more props, more surprises . . . more everything! While Happy often tells the audience “Today is the first day of the rest of your life!” Hairball performs every show as though it could be their last. Every night is a 100% full-on, no-holds-barred, exciting, chaotic, fiery party that has to be experienced to be believed!
High Mileage of Viroqua, Wis. will open for Hairball. The band is known for reproducing music from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
The grand stand shows are just a small part of the Mighty Howard County Fair. Check out its website at www.mhcfair.com to learn more.
