Crestwood/TV graduation

CRESCO/JACKSON JUNCTION - Our local schools are both having graduation events this weekend.
Turkey Valley seniors are having their ceremony on Sunday, May 17 at 1 p.m. at the football field. Only two visitors per student are allowed. The rain date is May 24. Senior awards will take place at that time.
Crestwood is having a drive through event on Sunday, May 17, from 2-3 p.m. at the high school. Seniors will be able to pick up their diplomas at that time and take pictures.
After leaving the school, there will be a “Wave-by” along the Homecoming Parade route. Locals are encouraged to wave while the seniors drive by.
The Cresco Area Chamber of Commerce is helping to put together a swag bag to give to each senior. Businesses or individuals are asked to bring 93 items, one for each senior, to the Chamber office by Friday, May 15 at noon in order to be included.
A more public commencement ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 21 at 2 p.m.
Seniors have been recognized for their scholarship and awards on Twitter. The link can be found at https://www.howard-winn.k12.ia.us.
The Class of 2020 was born in the shadow of the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001 and are now graduating in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Although they can’t remember the first event, they will never forget the second. May the rest of their lives be less dramatic! Congratulations Class of 2020!
