Cheerleader fund-raiser saluting volunteers, helpers

—Fund-raiser puts happy signs in individuals’ yards
CRESCO - Last November and before, yards were filled with political signs that made some people frown as they drove by.
Well this summer, there are signs in yards as well, but they make a person smile because they are happy signs.
The Crestwood High School cheerleaders are having a fund-raiser to pay for new uniforms and cheer gear. Locals can order a sign for someone and put a nice little note on it. The sign will stay in a person’s yard for five days, and then it will adorn another green space and spread even more cheer.
The fund-raiser, “CHS Cadet Cheerleaders Salute You,” has recognized quite a few individuals for doing good deeds.
It is really simple to “salute” a friend, family member, neighbor or someone who makes your day. Contact Cresco Area Chamber of Commerce, Varsity Cheer Coach Kelli Gosch (omgosch@gmail.com), any cheerleader or cheer parent.
Give them the name and address of the person to salute and why they are being recognized. There are three levels of donations:
• Private — $20, includes an 18x24 yard sign
• Corporal —  $25, includes an 18x24 or 36x24 (whichever is available) yard sign with 12x18 accent signs.
• Sergeant — $35, includes an 18x24 or 36x24 yard sign, 12x18 accent signs and a thank you card delivered to the recipient and signed by the cheerleaders.
Checks can be made out to Howard County Business & Tourism with CHS Cheer Salute in the memo.
Why not be like Clint Eastwood and make someone’s day . . . in a good way!
