Featherlite Trailers will cease operations at its manufacturing plants for one week beginning Monday, July 7.    

    This is a temporary change in the Featherlite work schedule prompted by slower than normal trailer sales due primarily to current uncertainties in the economy that have adversely affected the sale of durable goods nationwide, a Featherlite official said.
    Featherlite worker benefits will continue under normal policies.
    Featherlite officials expect the economy to begin improving in the last half of 2008 with demand for Featherlite trailers in all categories to accelerate.
