Nie "Jessi" Ping of Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China and Jeff Svestka of Rohnert Park, CA were married in a civil ceremony on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Dragon Palace Hall, Neng Hui Hotel in Guiyang, China. Guiyang Office of Marriage Certification performed the 11:30 a.m.  civil ceremony.
    Parents of the couple are Nie Zong Jian and the late Yun Zhi of Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China and Art and Lois Svestka of Cresco.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father Nie Zong Jian and stepmother Jiang Hong Feng.
    The bride wore a bordeaux ankle-length fish tail Cheongsam skirt with traditional gold embroidered raised collared open neck blouse for the ceremony. The bride then wore a red knee-length Mandarin collar Cheongsam dress with gold dragon and phoenix embroidery for the banquet.
    Liang Shuang Rui Xi, aka Sunny of Guiyang, China, daughter of the bride and Rochelle Svestka of Des Moines, sister of the bridegroom were very special guests of the couple.  
    A 24-course traditional Chinese banquet dinner immediately followed the ceremony at the Neng Hui Hotel.
    Jessi Ping is a graduate of the Beijing Normal University. She is currently employed as an English Language Instructor by the Guizhou Science, Technology & Engineering Vocational College in Guiyang, China. Jeff is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. He is currently employed as a Finance Specialist-Reinsurance Recovery for the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in Novato, CA.
    The family plans to make their home in Sonoma County, CA following the immigration of Jessi Ping and Sunny to the United States in the late Spring of 2009.
