Vicki Jo Truka and Theodore Robert Schmitz exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, January 19, 2008 in Laguna Beach, CA. Officiant John Webb performed the 11:30 a.m. outdoor ceremony in Heisler Park.
    Parents of the couple are Joe and Jane Truka of Lime Springs and Randy and Cindy Schmitz of Evansdale.
    The matron of honor was Cindy Goodner of Iowa Falls, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Stacy Dohlman of Lime Springs, sister of the bride and Cara Schmitz of Evansdale, sister of the bridegroom. The flower girls were Natalie Goodner, niece of the bride and Lily Taylor.     
    The best man was Jake Ironside of Rock Island, IL. Groomsmen were Ben Handfelt of Chicago, IL and Adam Severson of Huxley.
    A reception was held following the ceremony.
    Vicki is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She works as an art teacher at The Pegasus School (K-8) in Huntington Beach, CA. Ted is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. He works as the office manager and I.T. tech support at the corporate office for Golden State Foods in Irvine, CA.
    The couples' parents hosted a dinner and dance reception on February 16 at Kolby's in New Hampton.   
    The couple is residing in Huntington Beach, CA.
