The annual racing banquet sponsored by RL Promotions will be held this Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Expo Center at the Howard County Fairgrounds.
    The social hour will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the awards presentation from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    Drivers will be able to get their 2008 license, rules and registrations during the banquet.
    New for the 2008 season at the Cresco Speedway will be a party pass allowing vehicles in the pit area. Volleyball nets and horseshoe area will be set up for the party pass. Beverages and food will be sold in the pit area, too. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. for the party area every Friday night.
    The racing schedule at the Cresco Speedway has also been announced by RL Promotions with the USRA weekly racing series to begin on Friday, April 25. Races will be held every Friday through June 20 then switched to June 29 for the Howard County Fair. Friday races will resume on July 11 and continue until July 18. A rain date has been established on July 25.
NASCAR night at the Speedway will be on Tuesday, July 29, with USRA weekly races resuming Friday, Aug. 1. The season championships races will be held on Aug. 22, concluding the racing season
