The Cresco Head Start is holding an open house for fall enrollment at the Head Start preschool located at 329 8th Ave. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, from 3-6 p.m.
Parents and students can stop in, visit with staff and tour the classroom during the open house.
This full-day, year-round preschool program is free to families who qualify. Additional extended day programming is available to eligible families when parents are at work or in school. The program is administered by Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation of Decorah and funded through federal and state grants. Some slots may be funded through Empowerment dollars as available to qualifying families. There are currently eighteen Head Start/Child Development classrooms in Northeast Iowa.
Head Start is looking for eligible children, ages 3 and 4 years old by Sept. 15, to participate in a nurturing preschool environment. Children with disabilities are welcomed and encouraged to apply. Income guidelines apply.
