An Iowa man who was seriously injured when he fell off the tailgate of a truck has died from the injuries.

B.J. Iseminger, 27, of Runnells, Iowa, died at a Springfield, Mo., hospital Monday. Iseminger is now the second fatality stemming from the accident Aug. 31.

The accident occurred about 11 p.m. on CV Hill Drive, a private road near Lake Road 5-41.

Lyndi M. Richardson, 27, of Des Moines, Iowa, died Sept. 1.

Both victims were sitting on the tailgate of a 1995 Chevrolet 1500 when the driver accelerated and both passengers were thrown onto the ground, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol report. They were flown to separate hospitals with serious injuries.
